“Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,” (Ps 149:6 RSV). “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name” (Heb 13:15 RSV). What is your battle cry? What is your sacrifice of praise today?

4.23 praise, June Steckler ~~ I read the passage below today and to me, it had to do with your question of, “What is your sacrifice of praise today?” ~~ Ya know how it is…with artists and their tendencies to be all esoteric and weird and all. ~~ Perhaps I am stronger than I think. Perhaps I am even afraid of my strength, and turn it against myself, thus making myself weak. Making myself secure. Making myself guilty. Perhaps I am most afraid of the strength of God in me. Perhaps I would rather be guilty and weak in myself, than strong in Him whom I cannot understand. ~~ Thomas Merton (from Thomas Merton: A Book of Hours)
